Mike's maze is one of the largest and most beautiful mazes in the country. It has great activities for the kiddos and for adults it has beer tasting nights in the maze!

Blaze Hudson valley

This will be our first time visiting the display of 7,000 illuminated jack o’ lanterns—all designed and hand-carved on site.

Franklin Park Zoo

We visited this exhibit this weekend and we cannot say enough great things about it. It exceeded our expectations ten fold. It was stunning and full of great activities for the kids. This is a must this fall!

Glamping

Nick surprised me for my birthday with a quick trip to the Cape. The weather was beautiful, the location was stunning and the accommodations were just the coolest. We stayed at Autocamp in Falmouth, MA. Autocamp takes glamping to a whole new level. As you drive into the property you are greeted by the most beautiful mid-century check-in clubhouse equipped with a general store, kitchen, showers, and breathtaking lounge dinning room/ living room combo. Not only are the camp grounds stunning the beach is a short bike ride away.

Fire place in the main lobby

Common living room area

Minutes away is Falmouth's beautiful boutique style down town. We had lunch at Dilly's Taqueria, which had amazing Mahi Mahi tacos. For dinner we had the most amazing take on toro at Bluefins

This was our camper. The living room sofa converts into a twin bed. The kitchen comes equipped with everything you can ever need including gourmet coffee and a french press.

Nick and I reading in style😉

The camp provides these cute bikes at no cost. There are two beaches
that are only a few minutes away.

The front of the camper had a patio that included a dinning table and fire pit.
The general store sells stake kits and other goodies to grill.

Faux Light Trick

June 26, 2021

Have you ever wanted to install a light fixture to add more light or detail to a room and ...... you realize there is no electrical outlet! This is what happened in our family room. There is one light/fan on the ceiling but it just isn't enough. The idea of adding sconces in our family room came to me from the previous owner. He had what I thought were mounting blocks for light fixtures on the fireplace wall, but they turned out to be decorative. In my search for a solution I found the blog Nesting With Grace , where she recommends buying a hardwire light fixture and using remote controlled puck light as replacement to the lightbulb! One of her readers recommended using a  3/4-in x 3/4-in diameter adapter PVC fitting to screw the puck light into the socket, which worked amazingly!

This is the Amazon light fixture I purchased. Linked below

I hid the wires inside just incase later down the road I decide
to hire an electrician to hardwire them.

This is the puck light I ordered from Amazon. It is remote controlled and has different light intensity settings. Also, make sure the light is at least 77 Lumens , anything less is barely noticeable. The pvc adapter can be found at any hardware store in the plumbing aisle. It threads perfectly into the light socket. If your light tappers down like mine does, make sure the pvc adapter is the longest available. Using a hot glue gun, add glue to the non-threaded part of the pvc and stick it directly to the back of the puck light. Press down making sure the glue spreads evenly. Give it a few seconds to dry and then you will be ready to  install!

This is the final outcome!

Spa like bathroom

June 23, 2021

This weekend I added a small few elements to make our ensuite bathroom feel a bit more luxurious. If you are like me and love to soak , have a glass of wine, and read/watch videos(do not judge)  , I highly recommend a bathtub caddy. I also added a small stool with a candle & canisters where I keep my bath-bombs & epsom salt. I got the stool from Bed Bath & Beyond on sale for $37!

I love having some of my toiletries readily available but I also dislike the look of multiple containers on the bathroom countertop. On my Pinterest search for solutions, I saw a few designers use rectangular & circulars trays to store their everyday essentials. So I headed to Target & found a clay tray from Studio McGee and I absolutely love how it keeps everything looking tidy & stylish.

Probably my favorite addition, a vintage(look) rug that's washable! I got this beautiful rug from Amazon Home for less than $45! The underside has a grip material that keeps it in place and it is designed to be washed in the washer! The size we chose is 3x5 which runs along the length of our vanity.

Although our bathroom is fairly large we do not have tons of storage. I was thinking of adding a hutch or cabinet here but didn't want to add bulk so I went with floating shelves. There are many retailers selling these types of shelves but I found these at Marshalls. I love them because they are unfinished which allows you to stain/paint them if you prefer. They are light weight and super easy to install.

The last detail, dry eucalyptus in the shower. The minute you enter the bathroom, it reminds me of a luxurious spa and the scent just gets better when you shower.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

April 28, 2021

Who doesn't love a good mirror?! I've been on the prowl for a reasonably priced floor mirror for a long time and came across this beauty at Home Goods. Love the size(3'x6'), quality and the statement it makes as soon as you walk into the room. The mirror is Nicole Miller, and I've tried to search for a link and had zero luck. So, I linked a few similar options down below!

1. Pottery Barn (splurge option)
2. Overstock  (middle of the road)
3. Lowe's (budget friendly)

Kitchen Updates

March 16, 2021

Our kitchen is finally coming to life!!!

In just two days the kitchen cabinets were installed, the quartz backsplash and counter top were templated and floors installed. After a year in the making it feels great to see things finally come together at a faster pace. Since the beginning we knew we wanted neutral colors throughout and although I always dreamt of a white kitchen I changed my mind at the very last minute. After seeing one of Studio McGee's farm kitchen renos I totally fell head over heels for natural oak cabinets. We chose to go with KraftMaid cabinets not only because of their quality but because they had the exact color(Lento Maple) and pricing we were looking for. I have to be honest, I was a bit nervous with the color at first but now seeing them installed I couldn't be happier. For the trim(not installed yet) we decided to go with a beveled look to fill in the space above the cabinets and bring back some of the old farmhouse charm. We went farmhouse modern with the hardware (pictured below) and we love it. If you are interested in the specs on the kitchen I've linked some below and for a full video you can always check us out on Instagram. Stay tuned for the final product in two weeks!!

The cabinets and kitchen island are all KraftMaid , Lento Maple

Cabinets are wide and deep for pots and pans because God do I hate
regular shelving cabinets!! These will just pull straight out and make
it so much easier for organizing.

Back splash and counter tops will be Calacatta Laza quartz. Amazon Home
for the win again for the hardware. The Cup & Flat pulls are from Ravinte;
the company has great reviews on Amazon, are affordable and beautifully classic.

This is a sneak peek of our floors, wide plank Heart Pine which will be
stained :) But I am also feeling this natural color so who knows, might
have another change of heart ;)
